EVERYTHING FOR THE WELDER

Why the right attire is so important:

Welding clothing is not just a uniform; it is an essential shield that protects against the intense heat, sparks and radiation released during welding operations.

Features

  • Heat resistance: Welders are exposed to intense heat and sparks. Therefore, this clothing must be made of heat-resistant materials, such as leather, cotton or special heat-resistant synthetic fibers.

  • Fire and Spark Resistance: Clothing must be resistant to flames and sparks released during welding. This minimizes the risk of burns.

  • Radiation Protection: Protection from the harmful effects of UV and infrared radiation released during welding is essential. Special coatings or materials can absorb this radiation.
The right type of clothing for welders can contribute significantly to the safety and well-being of those engaged in welding activities. It is crucial to choose clothing that meets the requirements of the specific welding operations being performed, taking into account the intensity of the work and the hazards involved.

ISO STANDARDS FOR WELDING CLOTHING

ISO 11611: This standard describes the requirements for welding clothing. Clothing meeting this standard would protect the welder from small spatters of molten metal, flame contact, sparks and Uv radiation. With this standard, we can distinguish two classes.

  • Class 1: suitable for manual welding with few spatters or drops.
  • Class 2: recommended for manual welding with high spatter or droplets.
ISO 11612:This standard describes the requirements for protection against heat and flame. Welding clothing should be flame retardant and protect against heat.
